What is VI Peel?

The VI Peel® contains a synergistic blend of powerful ingredients suitable for all skin types. VI Peel® will improve the tone, texture and clarity of the skin; reduce age spots, improve hyperpigmentation (including melasma), soften lines and wrinkles; clear acne skin conditions; reduce or eliminate acne scars; and stimulate the production of collagen, for firmer, more youthful skin.


What is the difference between a VI Peel® and a regular chemical peel?

Unlike other chemical peels, our treatments are virtually painless, require no skin preconditioning and, have minimal downtime and include a comprehensive patient take care kit. All you need is gloves. VI peels are suitable for exfoliating the face and body. They also have vitamins and minerals which nurture the skin at the same time as it is going through the exfoliation process. These peels are practical, affordable and give excellent results to patients in as little as one (1) week. VI Peels are suitable for a variety of skin types and concerns. The VI Peel also comes with a take home kit that includes Post Peel Towelettes, Post Peel Protectant, and VI Derm SPF 50+ to help your patients with healing during the exfoliation process. They are a great way to increase revenue at your business with very little overhead and time. According to ASAPS data, chemical peels are the 4th most performed noninvasive procedure in the US with over 1 million done each year.

Can darker skin tones use VI Peel®?  Will it lighten or darken my skin color?

​The VI Peel is suitable for darker skin tones, but consult with your Practitioner to see if you are a candidate. The peel is intended to help address discoloration, uneven skin tone, dark spots and pigmentation. The peel may make the skin tone appear lighter, but it is actually returning the skin to its natural tone by removing damage. PIH – Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation can arise following any chemical peel. The potential for inflammation to instigate the melanogenesis process resulting in pigment deposition. With the darker skin tones it is suggested to apply the post peel protectant provided 10 minutes after using each dark green post peel towelette

How many times a year can a person have a VI Peel®?

If a series is recommended, the VI Peel is suitable to receive every 4-6 weeks as directed by your Practitioner. Your Practitioner will be able to create your own unique skincare plan for your skincare needs. You can also have the VI Peels quarterly/seasonally and receive four (4) peels a year for the maintenance of healthy skin.

Are there contraindications?

• Patients who are pregnant or who are breast feeding

• Patients who have an aspirin, hydroquinone or phenol allergy

• Patients who have used oral isotretinoin (Accutane) within the past 6 months

• Patients who have active cold sores, warts, open wounds or history of herpes simplex

• Patients who are undergoing chemotherapy and or radiation therapy within 6 months

• Patients with a history of an autoimmune (i.e. Lupus) or liver disease/disorder as well as any condition that may weaken their immune system

 

It’s important to talk to a healthcare provider prior to the procedure to discuss your treatment goals and any potential concerns you may have given your overall health condition.
